Kippen Village

The village has two great pubs, The Cross Keys and Inn at Kippen, both with friendly hosts and excellent food and drink that draws on Scotland’s natural larder. There is also the excellent Rhubarb and Lime deli/cafe, plus nearby Woodhouse Farm Shop & Cafe.

Loch Lomond

Scotland’s first national park is just a short drive away. On the eastern shores of Loch Lomond you can climb Conic Hill or Ben Lomond. Spend some time in the beautiful loch side village of Balmaha where you can take the short ferry ride to Inchcailloch Island.

The Trossachs

Follow the nearby Trossachs Trail to experience everything from a trip on a steamship at Loch Katrine to an abseil through the forrest at Go Ape in Aberfoyle. Deanston Distillery at Doune offers daily tours and tastings.

Glasgow

Scotland’s largest city is within an hours drive. Excellent shopping and excellent museums such as the Riverside Transport Museum on the River Clyde and Scotland’s most popular museum Kelvingrove Art Gallery, both of which are free to enter.

 

Stirling

Historic Stirling is less than 30 minutes by car. Its stunning castle, which is well worth a visit. The National Wallace Monument is also nearby, where you can discover the story of William Wallace. For family fun visit Blair Drummond Safari Park.
